The Mission Theatre welcomes The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Bath Councillor Paul Crossley and his wife, Mayoress Margeret Crossley

On Thursday 6th April, The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Paul Crossley, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Margaret Crossley, attended Next Stage Theatre Company's third night performance of My Brilliant Divorce. The show was a great success, and the Mayor and Mayoress both enjoyed the evening.

Everyone here at The Mission will be rather sad to see the end of this poignant, but laugh-out-loud show. Luckily, there are still three more performances to go - tonight (Friday 7th) and a 2pm matinee and 7.30pm evening tomorrow (Saturday 8th.) And the fun doesn't stop there: we are continuing our run of Bath Comedy Festival events with A Night at the Novelty Theatre on Sunday evening at 7.30pm, plus three hilarious sketch and stand-up shows on Monday 10th from 7pm onwards. There's so much laughter to be had at The Mission Theatre in the next four days - make sure you don't miss out! More information can be found on this website under 'What's On'. We look forward to seeing you there!

Those of you who were lucky enough to see any of this year’s Comedy Festival shows, including the ones at The Mission Theatre, will understand why the Festival’s Director, Nick Steel (pictured with the Mayor) was looking so happy at the reception held by The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Bath, Councillor William Sandry in the Mayor’s Parlour on Wednesday 20th April.

Thanking everyone who had been involved, Nick was celebrating one of Bath’s best Comedy Festivals so far and already looking forward to 2017. The Mayor spoke generously about the contribution Nick and his team have made to the Bath cultural scene with a high-class Festival despite receiving very little funding.

Ann and Andrew Ellison (pictured with Jem Roberts and John Wood) represented The Mission Theatre and were delighted that this performing space that they created over 11 years ago has always been a Comedy Festival venue. Here’s to next year!
